  • The TIDE study is a multicentric clinical trial approved by Health Canada. This study is among the first to specifically target youth experiencing their first episode of major depressive disorder (MDD), a condition associated with severe consequences, including a significantly increased risk of suicide. Unfortunately, current treatment options do not adequately predict which intervention will be most effective for each individual. TIDE’s primary objective is to identify key clinical factors that can guide early and effective interventions, potentially changing the course of mental illness from its very onset. The Montreal-Douglas arm of this study is led by Dr. Anthony Gifuni, co-investigator of the CEYMH. TIDE is one of the several randomized clinical trials (RCT) the CEYMH plans to develop alongside the BLOOM cohort.

This study is sponsored by Dr. Rudolf Uher at Dalhousie University and receives funding from the Waverley House Foundation and the Hewitt Foundation.
